RE: Aktivity Praha - volit/nevolit
Ok, moje mailová reakce na to, co psala Dani.
Jinak v tomto souhlasím s Markem, na tom co řekl není nic totalitního!
Lásku všem

I don't really agree... Would you allow on an action that you prepare someone with leaflets promoting let's say welfarism, or leaflets where they recommend only vegetarianism because veganism is dangerous, or leaflets that tell people that if they dont go vegan the world will end in 948 days??
The last one was what Vegfood people wanted to distribute. My position is that if you were doing a vegan march, with goal of reaching people on the street with vegan message, and someone distributes to people wanting information a CD, where they with no proofs and sources claim that in an exact number of days the world will end if all people don't go vegan, and that you should connect with Mrs. Supreme Master, my position is that I WOULD put some limits to what I want people to distribute. Similarly, you're doing a protest, a demonstration in front of fur shop let's say, and you tell all people NOT to attack customers, not to be violent, because you don't want it on this action, and suddenly some people stop respecting it and start shouting at people Murderers, and start to attack the shop assistants or so... Would you say "It's their freedom of speech, I must give no rules, I must not supress them" ? I think you wouldn't.
And it's the same with organising many other actions. You must accept that as much as you want to be open to variety of opinions, you cannot be open to ALL of them. Because then it would be no more in your hands, you could have anyone coming into action and turning it into something that you don't really want. And many times it's not enough to state "this action will be vegan and nonviolent, and as long as you accept this, you can promote your opinion." - because often you want that action to be apolitical, ireligious, or not having some ideology. Would you accept on an action prepared by you a guy who is promoting veganism and animal rights together with nacism? And he believes in it, he believes that this state belongs to Czech only, no Gypsies, no Jews, and he is convinced that he's doing RIGHT in fact! Would you allow that guy with this agenda, because you must not be totalitarian and supress any opinion? (Similarly, leaflets from someone who believes the RIGHT thing is to promote vegetarianism only, because veganism would scare people away, and welfarism instead of abolitionism because that's too scary...)
I just want to say that really you must set some limits to things and actions and projects that you are doing, because otherwise it can be flown with something you really don't wish.
