We would like to thank everyone who attended Veggie
Pride 2009, and also those who participated in the
preparation of the march as well other attendees.
Without their help, this event would not have been
possible. We would also like to thank the people who
attend our benefit shows and fund our organization. We
hope to see you again in 2010, and now we go by the name
Veggie Parade. If you have any ideas or criticisms, feel
free to join in the discussion. If you would like to
join in person, read the section titled “Support”. You
can also write us or come to our meetings.
What is Veggie Parade?
Veggie Parade is a celebration of an ethical way of life.
Our goal is to spread information broadly about a
vegetarian and vegan way of life, and we want to support
a two-way discussion on these issues. We also want to
educate the public about the unjust treatment of animals,
and the pointlessness of their deaths. We are a
celebration of the values of compassion, nonviolence and
respect for the lives of everyone.
This
initiative was conceived as an effort to bridge the gap
between vegans, vegetarians, and the wider public. We
will start the event Veggie Parade with a march through
Prague, and finish with a concert and after-party.
During the march, we’ll be offering free samples of
vegan food, information materials, and the possibility
to watch veggie-themed films. This is an opportunity to
interact in a pleasant gathering, and we hope you attend
the lectures, discussions, screenings and the closing
concert.
